The press conference was dedicated to the topic of organizing the effective use of computer technologies and the Internet among the population and youth in accordance with the third direction on the Five Initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting summed up the work carried out in 2019.
In particular, 24 educational centers of digital technologies were organized in the republic, and by the end of 2020 it is planned to increase their number to 80.
A total of 19 training programs on the basics of programming, computer graphics, robotics, and the creation of web and mobile applications have been developed ..
About 5 thousand students have already been trained in the centers ..
A modern new building of the specialized school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was put into operation, designed for 1200 seats.
In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Technological Park of Software Products and Technologies (IT-Park) was created.
In cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, the One Million Uzbek Coders project is being implemented.
According to the results of 2019, 4,150 km of fiber-optic communication lines were conducted in 3,433 schools, 1,836 preschool educational institutions and 1,127 health facilities.
By 2021, it is planned that all social facilities will be provided with high-speed Internet, and in remote settlements conditions will be created for access to modern telecommunication services.
